Vervali Systems provides QA testing services for SaaS startups in the US, and a startup can watch the team test one module free for two weeks before signing a long contract. The work covers functional, exploratory and regression testing, with automation added to flows once they have settled. Engineers deliver from India and share 9am to 1pm Eastern with your team for stand-ups, blockers and go-live calls, and defects and reports are waiting in your tracker each morning. Vervali publishes its rates: most engagements land at $25 to $49 an hour blended, with manual testers typically at $15 to $35 an hour and automation engineers at $20 to $50.

Vervali Systems has worked in software engineering and quality assurance since 2010, with 275+ specialists, 150+ clients and 450+ projects; it is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited testing laboratory and holds CMMI Maturity Level 3, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 27001.
What should a SaaS startup test first?
Vervali's first automated suite for a product protects the revenue path, build smoke and high-frequency regressions before lower-value backlog items. In a SaaS product the revenue path is signup, billing and the workflow customers pay for. A tester can run those checks by hand in the same order before the team automates them. The guide to load testing services for startups covers load before launch: tools, a pre-launch plan and the budget.
A team building a multi-tenant product should test its tenant separation early. OWASP Top 10:2025 keeps broken access control at #1 and found some form of it in 100% of the applications tested. One failure on its list, viewing or editing someone else's account by providing its unique identifier, is what a leak between tenants looks like. OWASP asks developers and QA staff to include functional access control in their unit and integration tests. Vervali's multi-tenant SaaS testing runs data isolation tests to check that no tenant can access another tenant's data, plus load tests that simulate multiple users from different tenants. The wider cloud and SaaS testing service adds cloud performance, scalability and security testing.
When should a startup outsource QA, and when should it wait?
Vervali calls outsourced testing a good fit when a product ships often, a product owner can sign off test design, and the team works in a tracker or pipeline. At that point an outside team adds coverage and cadence without adding headcount. It comes as managed testing, a dedicated QA team, staff augmentation or a fixed-price project, and what each engagement model costs compares their prices.
A very small team with no product owner and no CI is not the right buy yet. Its starting point is a review of one release or the basics of application testing, then scaling when the process is ready.
While the UI still changes every week, an automated suite will not pay back.
Should a startup start with manual testing or automation?
Vervali automates a test when it is stable, frequent and expensive to repeat by hand. Exploratory work, one-off UAT and a checkout experiment whose fields change every sprint stay with a person.
The ISTQB Foundation Level syllabus says exploratory testing is useful when there are few or inadequate specifications or significant time pressure on the testing. The same syllabus calls regression testing a strong candidate for automation, since regression suites are run many times and grow with each release.
A product is ready for automation when it has a staging environment that does not move under the suite, test data that can be reset, and at least one path that is stable and runs often. A free automation-readiness review of one suite checks those conditions and says ready or not, with the split of what to script and what to leave. Test automation as a service keeps a suite green month after month, with the monthly allocation named in the quote.
What does outsourced QA cost a startup per month?
At Vervali's published manual-testing rate of $15 to $35 an hour, the arithmetic for one tester is $1,200 to $2,800 for 80 hours in a month and $2,400 to $5,600 for a full 160-hour month.
| Setup | Hours a month | Published rate | Monthly total, by arithmetic |
|---|---|---|---|
| One manual tester, half time | 80 | $15 to $35 an hour | $1,200 to $2,800 |
| One manual tester, full time | 160 | $15 to $35 an hour | $2,400 to $5,600 |
| One automation engineer, full time | 160 | $20 to $50 an hour | $3,200 to $8,000 |
| Manual tester plus automation engineer | 160 each | both bands above | $5,600 to $13,600 |
A quote prices the actual scope: a project at a fixed price, a dedicated team monthly, or managed testing against an agreed outcome, with environment, data and tool costs named upfront.
For a startup weighing its first QA hire, the Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the median annual wage for software quality assurance analysts and testers at $104,300 in May 2025. That is about $8,690 a month in wages, before benefits. Hiring and outsourcing are compared per engineer in what each engagement model costs.
How should a startup judge a QA partner?
Vervali's buying advice is a checklist a startup can hold any provider to: an accredited lab, a written process, named engineers, working hours that overlap yours, an NDA before access and a pilot before a long contract.
Ask any provider for its accreditation certificate and confirm it with the issuing body. Then ask which named engineers will be on your calls and whether the NDA comes before any access to code or data. The guide to software testing companies compared on verified evidence sets nine firms side by side on their verified reviews, with the criteria stated before the list.
Vervali's named engineers come from a bench of 275+ and stay the same faces every week. The NDA is signed before any source code, credentials, environments or production-like data change hands. You keep ownership of the board and the pipeline, and each defect arrives in your Jira or Azure Boards with reproduction steps, environment details and evidence.
How does a Vervali pilot run?
Vervali's free two-week pilot covers one module: named engineers test it inside your tools under an NDA, and it ends with a written defect and coverage report.
A named team is usually assigned within a week of a signed NDA and access, and first test execution starts inside two weeks, using your existing frameworks where possible. The pilot is that first test cycle, at no cost. It is built so leadership can judge cadence, communication and defect quality before a longer contract. Afterward you can grow the team, change the model or walk away, with no obligation to continue.
A startup can request the free two-week pilot to test the module that carries its revenue path; the testing and QA services page covers the rest of the QA work.
